Behind a sensational team effort, the Miami Heat defeat the Indiana Pacers 99-76 and have moved on to face the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals.
Following game six of the Eastern Conference Finals, many experts and NBA people, including myself, believed that game seven would either be a closely contested battle or a lopsided victory in favor of the Pacers. Much like game five, the third quarter was the swing quarter in the Eastern Conference Finals matchup between the Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers. While LeBron James single handedly won game five, it was the Indiana Pacers that gained the advantage in the third quarter of play.
Miami entered the half leading by one, 40-39. The game was tightly contested throughout the first half, but it was clear that the Heat were going to need another heroic third quarter from LeBron James if they wanted to eliminate the Pacers from the playoffs and advance to the NBA Finals. Behind a stellar 30 point, eight rebound, and six assist night from LeBron James, the Miami Heat are now just one win away from earning a spot in the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs after defeating the Pacers 90-79. Continue reading
It took a total team effort, but the Indiana Pacers were able to bounce back after a crushing 114-96 defeat at home to beat the Heat 99-92 in game four and even the series at two games a piece.
After starting the game off with an 11-0 run, the Pacers were able to control the tempo for much of the first half and took a one point lead into the half, 47-48. Unlike Sunday nights fiasco, the Pacers were able to keep the Heat within reach and didn’t allow them to get more than a six point lead for the entire game. Continue reading
